Today, Blood Harvest Records announces October 31st as the international release date for Cadaveric Fumes' The Forsaken Triptych 2012-2016 CD. This special collection compiles all of the band's recorded material to date, from 2012 to 2016, including 2012's Macabre Exaltation demo (which Blood Harvest released on 12" vinyl in 2013), 2014's Entwined in Sepulchral Darkness split 12" with Demonic Oath, and this year's critically acclaimed Dimensions Obscure, which Blood Harvest released on 12" vinyl.
The timing for The Forsaken Triptych 2012-2016 could not be any better, as not only is it the first time Cadaveric Fumes have their recordings on CD format, but it more so charts the quartet's meteoric rise in the underground. Back at the band's beginning, one could already hear that a French death metal uprising was at hand, and their split mini-album with countrymen Demonic Oath put further punctuation on this claim. But it was Dimensions Obscure, released this past May via Blood Harvest, where Cadaveric Fumes truly arrived. Compared to their earlier work on that split and the preceding demo, on Dimensions Obscure, Cadaveric Fumes forewent the all-manic/all-the-time morbidity for a highly dynamic and nuanced take on death metal. Granted, flashes of mid '80s insanity and early '90s darkness remained, but a cool confidence was at play here, each passage measured to inflict both maximum cranial damage and spiritual atmosphere. These songs exuded a patience and maturity most death metal bands take many albums to accomplish, if at all, and all without compromising the core values of total and utter DEATH METAL.
Now Blood Harvest has delivered the definitive Cadaveric Fumes collection, capturing their early era for all posterity before the band plans their next, no-doubt-brilliant strike. If you've yet to jump on the Cadaveric Fumes bandwagon, The Forsaken Triptych 2012-2016 is the perfect jumping-on point. Otherwise, you snooze and you pose!

Italian review of the upcoming Zealot Cult 12"EP.
Today, Blood Harvest Records sets November 25th as the international release date for the vinyl LP edition of Totten Korps' second album, Supreme Commanders of Darknes. Founded in 1989 in Santiago, Chile, Totten Korps is one of the extreme metal pioneers of the nation, as well as being an influence to the current generation of Chilean death metal bands. The band was born amidst the chaos arising from the military dictatorship ruling the country at the time - a scenario that fueled the goal of recording their first demo, 1990's The King of Hell Reclaims His Throne, and subsequently their second demo, 1992's From the Infernal Resurrection. In 1993, the band signed their first record deal with Hellion Records from Brazil, thus managing to cross the Chilean borders to disseminate their somber death metal throughout the globe. In 2001, Totten Korps at last released their debut album, Tharnheim: Athi-Land-Nhi; Ciclopean Crypts of Citadels, on the cult Repulse Records. During a dry period for true death metal, this first full-length proved to be a dark gem, and is now held as a mini-classic with many.
Never one for half measures, always patiently taking their time, Totten Korps would stay quiet for the rest of the decade whilst working on new material, but at long last arrives their highly anticipated second album, Supreme Commanders of Darkness. Released in South America on CD at the end of last year, Supreme Commanders of Darkness proves that time has not dulled Totten Korps' fire; if anything, the quartet's more incensed than ever. And just like they've never been away, like 14 years haven't actually passed since their last recording, Totten Korps explode with all the wild, winding fury that made their early work so cherished. And yet, despite the immediate conflagration at hand, there's a pronounced technical aspect at play across the album, ably rendering their apocalyptic terror all the more mind-bending and -mangling and preserving their old-school roots all the while. Bow before the Supreme Commanders of Darkness!!

Today, Blood Harvest Records sets November 25th as the international release date for Master of Cruelty's highly anticipated second album, Archaic Visions of the Underworld, on vinyl LP format. In 2012, Blood Harvest released the vinyl edition of this Paraguayan black/death cult's debut album, Spit on the Holy Grail, a rabid 'n' ripping assault of bestial, deathly blackthrash. Now, with Archaic Visions of the Underworld, Master of Cruelty have surpassed that shockingly strong debut.
Taking all the same elements that made Spit on the Holy Grail such a hot commodity with underground diehards - stutter 'n' surge battery, tortured-tonsil exhortations, and a ceaselessly swirling carnage of riff 'n' rhythm - and amplifying them further, Master of Cruelty render Archaic Visions of the Underworld a study in what makes death and black metal from South America so special, and so enduring. Like an unholy marriage of early Morbid Angel, Vulcano, and Chile's Pentagram, Archaic Visions of the Underworld explodes forth in a sulfurous haze of tangible EVIL and otherworldly vibration; it is both mercilessly violent and also equally atmospheric. And yet, through it all, Master of Cruelty never forget the METAL aspect of the black/death cult, and command obeisance to possessed headbanging, claw-raising, and air-riffing. It's a wild ride into the very underworld itself.
A statement from the band reads as thus: "Archaic Visions of the Underworld is deeply submerged in the unholy spine of Mantos, which represents what Master of Cruelty bleeds and kills for. Our sonic evil universe has been expanded into a much more profound, obscure atmosphere where restless violence and doomish paraphernalia shall always prevail. We invite only the sick demons of the underground to enter the realm of savage Paraguayan madness with the eight unedited tracks craving from the entity MAESTRO DE LA CRUELDAD."

Review of the VAHRZAW album in German.
On November 18th worldwide, Blood Harvest Records will reissue Bastard Priest's first two albums, Under the Hammer of Destruction and Ghouls of the Endless Night, on vinyl format.
Formed in 2002, Bastard Priest predated the whole retro Swedish death metal wave that's continued in earnest in recent years. Authentically Swedish, hailing from Umeå, the duo soon became pillars of post-Y2K Swedeath with their debut demo, Merciless Insane Death, released in 2008 on Blood Harvest imprint Zombie Ritual Tapes. But it was the release of Bastard Priest's debut in 2010, Under the Hammer of Destruction, where they proved who the real contenders to the throne were. Reaping widespread acclaim, Under the Hammer of Destruction was followed a year later with Ghouls of the Endless Night, once again reaping acclaim with fans and critics and cementing the name Bastard Priest in the international underground.
Although the band's currently quiet, these new vinyl editions of Under the Hammer of Destruction and Ghouls of the Endless Night are a timely reminder of Bastard Priest's enduring greatness and hopefully a sign of new recordings to come. Cover art will remain the same as the first editions, but Under the Hammer of Destruction will be presented on black vinyl (300 copies), translucent red vinyl (100 copies), and clear vinyl (100 copies) while Ghouls of the Endless Night will be presented on black vinyl (300 copies), translucent purple vinyl (100 copies), and grey vinyl (100 copies).
